Members are encouraged to report their fishing trips, however, there is to be no spot specific information posted on this site in regards to surf fishing reports. Please be as vague as possible in your report location. I do not have a drop down menu. For example, I fished at a location in the back bay of Suffolk county would be acceptable. I fished the point at Democrat point would not be acceptable.
Members are also encouraged to post pictures. Please be careful that there is not too much background in your photo which would give away your specific location.
Any spot specific reports or photos will be removed.
The reasons for the restrictions are many. The biggest is "spot burning". Spot burning is telling everyone where the fish are and causing a crowded condition at such location. You can ruin it for yourself or others.
We all would like to hear about your fishing trips and see your photos with your catch. You may be as specific as you like in regards to what type of bait or lure you used, what kind of retrieve, conditions, what bait was present, what you observed, or anything else you can think of that would help other members.
Also there is to be no harassment of members on their decision to either release or keep a LEGAL fish. Many people are conservation minded. Others like to eat as much fish as they can. It is the individual's choice to do what they wish with their legal catch.
So go ahead and report away. I look forward to reading some great reports. Any Questions please direct them here.
Jay.
